Was reading up at Insidepluse(break-away page from 411mania) about the world cup of hockey and caught this neat little column about the Sega Dreamcast and how it was directly related to Sega's downfall. I personally have a dreamcast so I know how good some of the games for this machine are. Also be warned, the author is very Anti-PS1/PS2 www.insidepulse.com/article.php?contentid=6420

I think the DC's biggest failure was when it was released. It was an inbetween, better than consoles like the N64 and PS1, but inferior to the upcoming (at the time) ps2. If sega had held back maybe half a year or so, made it more powerful...it could have been better. Although, it was pretty successful in Japan. Hell, they're STILL making DC games in Japan (not by sega though, only third parties are still making DC games).
