Lucas is lying about having other scripts written, he made Star Wars IV and originally named it "The Star Wars." That's what appeared on screen at the premiere, it was soon after that, that he decided he wanted to make a big long drawn out thing with it and had it renamed as "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." So that right there tells you that he's just bull crapping. Actually, the original script for The Star Wars WAS basically the whole trilogy, but it was too huge to make into one movie so he just took the first third of it and made Star Wars. One of the biggest things he wanted from Fox was that he would have the rights to make sequels to it, since he wanted to make movies out of the rest of the story.

I take it you watched that A&E special the other night as well

Yeah, I did. That was actually the special from the dvds, so I'm surprised they aired it on tv before the dvds came out. I wish I could see that first edit of Star Wars that they talked about, the one with 3PO driving the speeder with Luke fixing stuff.

I could only guess that giving it away on "free tv" would be a way to get all the rubes and humanoids who didn't know it was coming on DVD that the trilogy was.

Well, in order to try and prevent Lucas from ruining this great trilogy more than he already has, would anyone like to contribute to the "Kill a Lucas" Foundation?

Is that similar to the fund some trekkies setup to hire a hitman to whack Brandon Braga and Rick Berman? So, today is the day. How many of us here are running out to buy the set and/or have pre-ordered it?

I haven't preordered, but I'm about to head back to the hotel and beg my dad to give me some cash so I can go buy it.

I wonder if a similar form of insanity would have affected Gene Roddenberry, had he managed to live this long.

Well...there was Andromida...... Anyhow, I have a rain check put down on the new trilogy for when the PX gets a new shipment in, which should be on Saturday.

If Andromedea crammed "Star Trek" into it's title, it would be the Turn-A of Trek...however, it settles for the role of "OKG of Trek gone ary."

been awhile since anyone posted here, but hey I'm knew and having a ball. Personally I like the use of Hayden Christensen as the spirit of Anakin, as it shows the time that Anakin's true spirit died. If you read the comics or novelization of Episode 3, the ghost-voice of Qui-Gon explains that a Sith can never attain the ability to become a spirit of the Force in that they devote themselves to greed and desire, not compassion and understanding as the Jedi do. And so Anakin's spirit can, but that of Vader cannot.
